Summary: I've been involved with TIP Global Health for several years, across a range of roles β€” starting as a grad school fellow before moving into UX design and eventually growing into a hybrid UX/Product Manager position. That long-term involvement has let me support E-Heza through two major inflection points: a period of significant growth in the app's capabilities, and the organization's solidified partnership with the WHO.

E-Heza had a strong foundation and proven success, but only a minimal set of modules β€” and the organization wanted to expand its functionality significantly. That required someone who could translate medical jargon, clinical workflows, existing app structure, and on-the-ground health worker feedback into streamlined design and clear GitHub issues for development. At the same time, decisions, background information, and requirements were scattered across a multitude of sources with no single source of truth.

My Role:

  • Partnered closely with the lead dev to maintain clear requirements, drive timely delivery, and resolve QA issues - serving as the primary information conduit between engineering, organizational leadership, and the medical staff.

  • Managed backlog health end-to-end: writing and refining GitHub issues, overseeing QA cycles, and ensuring nothing fell through the cracks during a turbulent funding environment.

  • Ran weekly scrums, maintained and updated the product roadmap in response to rapidly shifting priorities, and acted as internal liaison to the Executive Director and CTO, as well as external point of contact with WHO.

  • Overhauled the design and development process to follow agile methodologies, significantly improving cross-team communication and delivery predictability.

  • Oversaw the full product lifecycle from qualitative and quantitative research of on-the-ground healthcare workflows to QA testing and post-launch optimization

Results:

  • Developed 17 new app modules in one year - a significant increase from previous years.

  • Increased E-Heza ’ s operational capacity by 4.5x by improving systems and processes through research, design and dev.

  • Directly enabled stronger WHO system integration and improved grant eligibility by establishing a single source of truth for the E-Heza app covering user flows, data metrics, screen-level Figma documentation, and research citations into a Digital Adaptation Kit (DAK).
